SUMMER ACADEMY PROGRAM
Our developmental program to prepare players for competitive play.
U7 and U8 Summer Academy Program
Folsom Soccer Club’s Summer Academy is a program designed to bridge the gap between recreational and competitive soccer for players born in 2014 and 2013. Our program introduces players to more structured training while maintaining all the fun that comes with playing with friends. We view the U7/U8 Academy as an essential part of a young player’s development.
Our curriculum is designed so that the focus is on teaching technical skills while also introducing some tactical elements through fundamental decision making. With a learning curve so steep at 6 and 7 years old, we understand the importance of instilling basic technical and motor skills that will stay with players for life.

Academy Teams
At the end of our Summer Academy program players will be selected to form Academy teams to ‘play up’ within our own Recreational Program in the Fall. The U7 Academy team will play in the U8 Age Group, the U8 Academy team in the U9 Age Group. This will give stronger players the opportunity to participate in a more competitive environment. We believe this will aid their development as we look to constantly challenge our young players.
